Large amounts of unlicensed medications have been seized by Department of Health authorities during a search of a home in Glengormley.

A male was talked to by department officers about unlawfully importing and consequently supplying unlicensed impotence medicines by means of the internet.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other .

He will now be the topic of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was brought out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, said: "It is essential that we get the message across that unlicensed medicines can be hazardous.

"These kinds of products being sold, typically online, have actually gone through no quality assurance and there can be no assurance about their safety.

"You simply do not know what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More notably, you do not understand the impact drugs like this might have on your health."
