Albums

Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums and 4 live albums. There are also a few compilations. Toto has released original music as well as collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The band has received multiple Grammy Awards.

Before Toto was formed The members of the band performed session work for other musicians. David Paich, the son of drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all played on Boz Scaggs’ 1975 album Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in the year 1976 following the collaboration.

The band's third album, Turn Back, marked an abrupt departure from the progressive sound of their previous albums, and was criticised for the lack of hit singles. In 1985 the group's lead singer Fergie Frederiksen quit the group, and the band held auditions for a new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the band recorded the 1986 album Fahrenheit.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The band went through old recordings and tapes to create the album. The album was well-loved by fans and Toto began the tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

During the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun, drummer Leland Sklar left the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In the year 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included tour recordings as well as an interview with the group.
