Albums

Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums and 4 live albums. There are also a few compilations. Toto has released original music as well as collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The band has received multiple Grammy Awards.

Before Toto was formed The members of the band performed session work for other musicians. David Paich, the son of drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all played on Boz Scaggs’ 1975 album Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in the year 1976 following the collaboration.

The band's third album, Turn Back, marked an abrupt departure from the progressive sound of their previous albums, and was criticised for the lack of hit singles. In 1985 the group's lead singer Fergie Frederiksen quit the group, and the band held auditions for a new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the band recorded the 1986 album Fahrenheit.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The band went through old recordings and tapes to create the album. The album was well-loved by fans and Toto began the tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

During the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun, drummer Leland Sklar left the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In the year 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included tour recordings as well as an interview with the group.

Toto is a rock group from the US that was formed in Van Nuys in Greater Los Angeles in 1977. The group is comprised of six members: guitarist and vocalist Steve Lukather, bassist David Paich, keyboardist/vocalist Steve Porcaro, drummer Jeff Porcaro, and guitarist/vocalist Joseph Williams. The diverse mix of influences in the group has made it one of the most popular groups of all time. The band's music has been featured in more than 200 movies and TV shows including The Godfather and The Prince of Egypt.

In 1983 the band released Toto IV, which earned them worldwide praise. The group embarked on the world to promote the album following its popularity. During the tour, Bobby Kimball, the lead singer, was arrested on drug-related charges. After the tour the band decided to let him go, and they hired singer/guitarist Joseph Williams to take his place. Drummer David Hungate also left the group after the tour. Leland Sklar took over his place.

The TOTO Museum is an impressive modern building with a variety of exhibit rooms that are devoted to telling the story about the company and its most innovative product. The museum's exhibits include toilets and faucets as well as tableware that have aided in the growth of TOTO over the past half century. The museum also has special exhibits throughout the year.

Toto has produced many music videos. The group has also released numerous compilation videos and DVDs. The most watched video by the group is "Africa", which has over one billion views on YouTube. The video is set in a library where the band totopia.Kr performs on top of the stack of African books.

The track "Africa" is from the album Toto IV. The song was written by band members and produced by David Paich. It was a huge success in Europe as well as other countries. The single's success helped Toto regain their popularity after their previous album, Turn Back, failed to chart in the United States.

Toto embarked on a worldwide tour after the release of their album. The group featured touring backing musicians Lenny Castro, Shannon Forrest, Warren Ham and Shem von Schroeck. Steve Lukather also released his second solo record, Luke.

In 1985, drummer Fergie Frederiksen quit Toto due to personal reasons. Toto decided to hold an audition, and eventually selected Joseph Williams to replace Frederiksen.

Before and during the formation of Toto, its members did session work for a variety of artists. Drummer Jeff Porcaro and bassist David Hungate performed on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs, which led to Toto's formation. Keyboardist Paich was regular on albums by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.

In 1998, Toto started working on the project titled Old Is New. This album featured three new tracks as well as several finished recordings of older songs. The album was a global success and the band embarked on a tours to promote it.

Toto known for the hit single "Africa" The group recently reunited to promote their new album, All In. The album came out on November 6, 2018, and featured three new songs from the forthcoming 40 Trips Around the Sun, as well as recorded versions of four older tracks featuring Jeff Porcaro on drums and either Mike or Steve Porcaro on bass. The album also included an original cover version of Weezer's track "Hash Pipe," which the band re-released after hearing it on the radio.
